Honeydew Blackberry Basil Mix (Print)

Sweet honeydew chunks with ripe blackberries and fresh basil, dressed in a simple honey-lemon mix with poppy seeds if you want.

# Ingredients:

→ Salad

01 - 4 fresh basil leaves, sliced into thin ribbons
02 - 1 cup juicy blackberries
03 - 1 medium honeydew, diced into cubes

→ Dressing

04 - Sea salt as needed
05 - ½ teaspoon of optional poppy seeds
06 - 2 teaspoons maple syrup or liquid honey
07 - 2 tablespoons of squeezed lemon juice
08 - 2 tablespoons olive oil, preferably extra virgin

# Steps:

01 - Halve the melon and scoop out the seeds. Slice into easy-to-eat pieces, making sure not to cut through the skin. Use a knife to separate the rind and set the chunks on a plate with the blackberries.
02 - Combine the olive oil, maple syrup (or honey), lemon juice, and optional poppy seeds in a mixing bowl. Stir until blended.
03 - Pour the dressing across the salad and lay the thinly sliced basil leaves on top. Just before eating, sprinkle a bit of sea salt for flavor.

# Additional Notes:

01 - You can make this salad the night before. For the best flavor, add the salt and dressing when you're ready to eat.
