# Ingredients:

→ Main

01 - 1 block (16 oz) extra firm or super firm tofu
02 - 1 cup panko crumbs
03 - 1/3 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free alternative)
04 - 1/3 cup plain non-dairy milk or regular milk
05 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
06 - 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
07 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
08 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
09 - 1/2 teaspoon paprika
10 - Cooked rice for serving
11 - Green onions, sliced thin (optional garnish)
12 - Sesame seeds, toasted (optional garnish)

→ Sauce

13 - 1/3 cup water
14 - 1/3 cup honey
15 - 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
16 - 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
17 - 2 tablespoons sesame oil (toasted for more flavor)
18 - 2–3 fresh garlic cloves, finely minced
19 - 1–2 teaspoons chili garlic paste (optional, add depending on spice level)
20 - 2 teaspoons cornstarch
21 - A small pinch of salt

# Steps:

01 - Turn on your oven to 450°F. Coat a big baking sheet with cooking spray and put it aside for later.
02 - In a big bowl, combine the milk, all-purpose flour, and seasonings. Stir everything well until it’s thick and smooth. Drop in pieces of tofu and gently toss them until they’re completely covered.
03 - Add the panko crumbs to the tofu. Slowly stir everything together to stick the crumbs well to each piece. Press the crumbs into the tofu gently for an even coating.
04 - Evenly arrange the breaded tofu on the baking sheet in one flat layer. Use more cooking spray on top. Bake for 15–20 minutes, flipping the tofu halfway through, until it turns crisp and golden.
05 - As the tofu bakes, combine all the sauce ingredients in a jar or medium bowl. Pour it into a heated pan on medium and stir while cooking for about 3–5 minutes, until it’s thick enough to coat a spoon’s back.
06 - Mix the baked crispy tofu into the thickened sauce in your pan. Stir gently to coat well. If you like, sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top.
07 - Serve the saucy tofu with a side of cooked rice or any grain you prefer. Add veggies if you like!

# Additional Notes:

01 - For the crunchiest tofu, press out as much water as possible before cooking.
