Greek Meatballs Tzatziki Sauce (Print)

Juicy beef meatballs seasoned with Mediterranean spices and feta, paired with cool cucumber-yogurt tzatziki sauce.

# Ingredients:

→ Greek Meatballs

01 - 1 pound lean ground beef
02 - 1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs or gluten-free breadcrumbs
03 - 1/4 cup chopped flat-leaf parsley
04 - 3 tablespoons grated onion
05 - 1 clove garlic, grated
06 - Zest of 1 lemon
07 - 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
08 - 1 egg
09 - 1 teaspoon dried oregano
10 - 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
11 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
12 - 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
13 - Salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste
14 - 2 ounces feta cheese, crumbled

→ Tzatziki Sauce

15 - 1 cup shredded cucumber, liquid squeezed out
16 - 1 1/2 cups plain Greek yogurt
17 - Juice of half a lemon
18 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
19 - 1/2 teaspoon grated garlic or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
20 - Salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste (1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt suggested)

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and spray with cooking oil.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together the panko, parsley, grated onion, garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, egg, spices, salt, pepper, and feta cheese.
03 - Add the ground beef to the mixture and combine gently with your hands without overworking. Form tablespoon-sized meatballs.
04 - Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet and brush or spray the tops with olive oil. Bake on the center rack for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
05 - While the meatballs are baking, combine all tzatziki sauce ingredients in a medium-sized bowl and stir until well combined.
06 - Remove the meatballs from the oven and serve them alongside the tzatziki sauce.
