While meatloaf bakes, combine mashed potatoes with melted butter, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until creamy and smooth.

Remove meatloaf base from oven and spread the mashed potato mixture evenly over the top.

Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon over the mashed potatoes.

Return to oven and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
