Med Chicken Gyros Tzatziki (Print)

Juicy grilled chicken, soft pita, and tangy feta tzatziki come together for a genuine Mediterranean feast ready in only 30 minutes.

# Ingredients:

→ Chicken Marinade Mix

01 - 500g chicken breast, boneless and without skin
02 - 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
03 - 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
04 - 2 teaspoons oregano, dried
05 - Black pepper and salt, as needed

→ Tzatziki with Feta

06 - 1 cucumber of medium size, shredded
07 - 1 cup yogurt (Greek style)
08 - 100g feta cheese, broken into crumbs
09 - 2 tablespoons juice from fresh lemons
10 - Black pepper and salt, as needed

→ Putting It Together

11 - 4 pita bread rounds

# Steps:

01 - Mix up the olive oil, chopped garlic, oregano, salt and pepper in a container. Toss in chicken breasts and make sure they're fully covered. Wrap and stick in the fridge for at least half an hour.
02 - Shred your cucumber, add a bit of salt, and leave it for 10 minutes. Press out the water, then mix with your Greek yogurt, crumbled up feta, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Keep it cold until you're ready to eat.
03 - Throw your soaked chicken on a hot grill and cook about 6-7 minutes each side until it hits 75°C inside. Let it sit a bit before you cut it up.
04 - Throw the pita bread on the grill for about a minute on each side just until it's warm and has some light toast marks.
05 - Put your sliced chicken in the middle of each warm pita, add whatever fresh toppings you like, and pour a good amount of that feta tzatziki on top.
06 - Wrap the pita around everything and eat right away with extra tzatziki on the side if you want.

# Additional Notes:

01 - You'll get better flavor if you soak the chicken overnight or at least 2 hours
02 - Try swapping in fresh herbs instead of dried ones for more taste
03 - Best enjoyed hot with something cold to drink
