Pan Fried Caramelized Peaches (Print)

Sweet peaches caramelized with brown sugar and warm spices, perfect served hot with your favorite sides.

# Ingredients:

→ Fruit

01 - 4 fresh peaches

→ Caramelization

02 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
03 - 2 tablespoons brown sugar
04 - 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
05 - 0.25 teaspoon ground ginger
06 - A pinch of salt

# Steps:

01 - Slice each peach in half vertically and remove the pit. If desired, cut into thicker wedges to retain structure during cooking.
02 - Melt unsalted butter in a flat-based pan over medium heat. Add brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, and a pinch of salt. Stir continuously until the mixture is homogenous and begins to bubble.
03 - Arrange peach halves cut-side down in the pan. Cook undisturbed for 5 to 7 minutes, allowing the surfaces to brown and caramelize deeply.
04 - Gently turn each peach over and continue cooking for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until fully heated through and lightly caramelized on the opposite side.
05 - Serve the caramelized peaches hot. Enjoy them as is, or pair with ice cream, yogurt, pancakes, or a preferred accompaniment.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For variety, substitute peaches with nectarines, plums, or firm apples.
02 - To make this dish vegan, replace dairy butter with coconut oil or plant-based butter.
03 - Thicker slices will better maintain their integrity during frying.
04 - Enhance with a hint of nutmeg, cloves, or vanilla extract if desired.
05 - Alternative sweeteners such as maple syrup, honey, palm sugar, or white sugar can be used.
06 - Omit the pinch of salt if using salted butter.
07 - Increase cooking time for a more pronounced caramelized and mildly smoky flavor.
08 - A grill pan may be used for attractive char marks.
