Savory Beef Bolognese Pasta (Print)

Hearty beef Bolognese simmered with tomatoes, herbs, and vegetables, served with pasta for comforting meals.

# Ingredients:

→ Bolognese Sauce

01 - 450 g ground beef
02 - 1 medium onion, diced
03 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
04 - 1 medium carrot, finely chopped
05 - 1 medium celery stalk, finely chopped
06 - 425 g crushed tomatoes
07 - 2 tablespoons tomato paste
08 - 1 teaspoon dried oregano
09 - 1 teaspoon dried basil
10 - 0.5 teaspoon salt
11 - 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
12 - 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
13 - 240 ml beef broth
14 - 120 ml whole milk
15 - 2 tablespoons olive oil

→ To Serve

16 - 450 g spaghetti or preferred pasta
17 - Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
18 - Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)

# Steps:

01 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat. Add diced onion, carrot, and celery. Sauté for approximately 5 minutes until vegetables are softened.
02 - Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
03 - Increase the heat to medium-high. Add ground beef and cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking up meat until deeply browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
04 - Mix in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
05 - Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
06 - Stir in whole milk and continue to simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
07 - Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Drain thoroughly and set aside.
08 - Serve Bolognese sauce over the cooked spaghetti. Garnish with chopped fresh basil or parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For a richer, more developed flavor, allow the sauce to simmer for up to 1 hour and consider adding a splash of dry red wine.
02 - Swap ground turkey or chicken for a lighter alternative, or use lentils for a vegetarian preparation.
