# Detailed Directions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 175°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
03 - Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until fully blended.
04 - Stir in the sourdough discard until the dough becomes smooth and uniform.
05 - Whisk the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt together in a separate bowl.
06 - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined without overmixing.
