Ground Beef Zucchini Casserole (Print)

# Ingredients:

01 - 450 g lean ground beef
02 - 2 medium zucchinis, diced
03 - 1 medium sweet onion, finely chopped
04 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 240 ml low-sodium tomato sauce
06 - 170 g shredded mozzarella cheese

→ Seasonings

07 - 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
08 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
09 - Salt, to taste
10 - Black pepper, to taste

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 190°C.
02 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until thoroughly browned, breaking it up with a spatula.
03 - Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until onions are translucent, about 3 to 5 minutes.
04 - Stir in diced zucchini and tomato sauce. Sprinkle in Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, allowing vegetables to soften slightly.
05 - Spread half of the beef and zucchini mixture evenly in a baking dish. Top with half of the shredded mozzarella cheese. Repeat layering with the remaining mixture and cheese.
06 - Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
07 - Remove foil and continue baking for 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
